West Horsley Place – Hosting Henry VIII Festival (child ticket)

West Horsley Place is of exceptional architectural and historic significance. There has been a manor house on the Estate since soon after the Norman Conquest, but the core of the present house is a 15th-century oak-beamed residence which had originally a central double-height hall. The house was seized by Henry VIII and given to his cousin and childhood friend Henry Courtenay in 1536.

Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September – Hosting Henry VIII – A spectacular weekend festival full of Tudor merry-making. Enjoy jousting, falconry, music and food!

In 1533 Henry & Gertrude Courtenay welcomed King Henry VIII for a visit to West Horsley Place. Almost 500 years later we are recreating this momentous stay as a unique multi-sensory experience. You can taste the King’s feast, listen to Tudor music, watch falconry displays, cheer for your favourite jousting knight and much more. It will be an epic day out to remember!
