At the outbreak of the First World War, the West Sussex County Asylum was requisitioned to serve as a Military Hospital, caring for soldiers, sailors and airmen returning from the Front. The first convoy of patients arrived in May 1915. Hear the rest of the story with historian Katherine Slay of the West Sussex Records Office.
